Every Man's Duty.
In the age of social media every individual is a propagandist. Propaganda is simply telling a story or explaining the world from a specific point of view with the intent of changing people's minds.
Some people are very effective at it. Others struggle. But if you have never been trained in the art of influence it stands to reason why your message might fall flat.
Being effective at propaganda is a skill like any other. If someone instructed you to hang a door or install crown molding and you had never done it before, it would be difficult to think that you would be good at it without any training. The same goes for propaganda.
To create effective propaganda, you will need to follow these basic steps.
1) Define your purpose
2) Define your target audience
3) Meet them where they're at
4) Mirror and match
5) Pace & lead
6) Understand that the Overton window moves incrementally
Define your purpose.
As with all things in life, before you get started you will want to figure out why you want to do a thing.
Why do you post on social media?
Some people post on social media just to get a reaction. You already know who the ragebaiters are.
They post deliberately provocative, annoying, or inflammatory things simply to get people mad and comment, quote, argue, or share it.
This of course is not propaganda and will likely be counter productive to your aim.
But what if you wanted to build a coalition either for the American Fascist Imperium or for White Nationalism in general?
Ragebaiting may not be the most effective tool.
Define your target audience.
If your stated purpose was to build a coalition for the American Fascist Imperium you might decide that your target audience are people who already agree with you but don't have a home or a tribe to act on it.
If your stated purpose was to build a coalition or to recruit a Right leaning audience to White Nationalism your target audience might be the hardcore wing of the America First Republican party.
Of course you would want to speak to those two distinct groups very differently.
Meet them where they're at.
The first principal in effective influence is to meet someone where they’re at. You need to develop rapport (trust) with someone before they will allow you to lead them.
The fastest way to build rapport with someone is to connect with them on their pain. When you can articulate someone's pain better than they can they will instantly feel a trust with you.
NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) refers to this process as mirror and matching.
If you are promoting AFI you might want to talk about the pain of being isolated in your beliefs and not having a network of brothers to discuss ideas with or to take political action with.
If you are converting hardcore Republicans to White Nationalism you might discuss the embarrassment of failed leadership, and the pain of unemployment, inflation, crippling debt, unaffordable housing, or how foreigners seem to be taking all of the jobs from Americans.
Pace & lead.
Establishing that you understand someone's pain is the psychological equivalent to walking side by side. NLP calls this pacing.
Once you are keeping pace with somebody psychologically you can then begin to lead them in the direction that you choose.
If you share the same pain as someone and happen to know a way to alleviate that pain, why wouldn't they choose to follow you?
The Overton Window moves incrementally.
Political scientist Joseph Overton argued that politicians mostly support policies that already sit inside a socially accepted range, or “window”. Ideas outside that window are too extreme to champion without losing support.
Therefore, the Overton window is a window of public discourse; inside the parameters of where allowable debate should be.
Overton identified a common scale of acceptance that an idea or policy will move through:
First, a new idea might sound Unthinkable.
Then, with time, only Radical.
With time and effort the idea might begin to become Acceptable in public discourse.
After more time and dissemination of propaganda the idea might start seeming Sensible.
With added momentum the idea becomes Popular.
Once an idea becomes popular only then will politicians be brave enough to make it Policy.
In the West these once unthinkable topics have been made mainstream following this exact pattern.
Socialism.
Gay marriage.
Closed border.
Not long ago the idea of having an openly communist mayor of New York City or a married gay couple serving in a Republican administration would have seemed unthinkable.
To create effective propaganda, determine what message you want to advance and what group would be the most receptive.
Once you've done this, begin to illustrate their pain in a way that will develop deep trust from your audience.
Then offer them a solution.
Today, the idea of reclaiming Western Nations as White ethnostates may seem unthinkable;
Replacing democracy with a strong national leader may seem radical;
Usurping liberalism with a return to a warrior culture, a heroic ethic, and the celebration of vitalism is becoming more and more acceptable;
Mass deportations seems sensible;
And now, the call to rid the West of its Zionist Occupational Government is now becoming popular.
The Right may be late to the game, but anything is possible when you commit to mastering the skill it requires to get something done.
Each of us has a responsibility to help move the Overton window within our own circle of influence.
Businessmen can easily reach businessmen.
Athletes will naturally reach other athletes.
Plumbers and electricians can easily have influence over other craftsmen.
To maximize your effectiveness as a propagandist, seek to master the skills of psychology, sales and influence.
